Fountaine Pajot Thira 80: Your Own Private Island

New Fountaine Pajot Thira 80

Your own private island, wherever you want it!

With an unprecedented level of luxury elegantly imbued through both her private accommodations and social living areas, the Thíra 80 is the epitome of grace. Yet, despite her beauty, she remains true to her purpose: to be an exceptional yacht for exceptional travelers.

Our walkthrough at its Cannes boat show premiere!

During our visit to the Cannes Boat Show in 2023, we had the opportunity to explore the Fountaine-Pajot Thira 80, a remarkable addition to their new generation of catamarans.

Stepping aboard the Thira 80

The Aft Cockpit Area:

Upon approaching the Thira 80, its grandeur is immediately evident. Towering hulls and an expansive 11-meter beam make a bold statement of luxury. The aft cockpit features a hydraulic tender/swim platform that accommodates a 4.6-meter tender, complete with an integrated gangplank for easy access. The spacious aft sunbed—concealing storage for jet skis and toys—highlight Fountaine-Pajot’s focus on creating versatile recreational spaces.

The Fordeck:

This is a haven for showcasing both safety and relaxation, featuring wide decks with high gunnels that enhance security while preserving views through thoughtfully placed glass panels. These allow passengers to enjoy breathtaking vistas even from inside the saloon. Cleverly designed lounging areas and folding gunnels transform into terraces, offering panoramic ocean views for the ultimate lounging experience.

The Flybridge:

Ascending to the flybridge, one is greeted by an array of features that merge functionality and leisure. Solar technology is seamlessly integrated, with both glass and flexible solar panels enhancing energy efficiency. The twin helm stations are spacious and strategically positioned, ensuring easy maneuverability. This area is a prime social hub, offering unobstructed views and plenty of seating. The carbon mast and high-performance sails underline the Thira 80’s sailing capabilities, as demonstrated by its reported 7-knot performance in a 9-knot breeze during its delivery.

The Interior Spaces:

The galley-down layout of the Thira 80 maximizes interior space, creating a saloon that is both elegant and functional. Cutaways in the furniture allow for stunning views through gunnel glass, complemented by ample natural ventilation via the forward door. An internal navigation station adds to the functionality of the space, blending practicality with luxurious design.

The Accommodations:

Below deck, the Thira 80 offers four double guest cabins, a VIP suite, and a galley/crew mess, all thoughtfully designed for comfort. The mirrored guest cabins on the port side are spacious and inviting. The VIP cabin stands out with its luxurious ensuite, ample storage, and spacious layout, while the galley/crew mess area provides practical amenities, including a crew dining area, bunk crew cabin, shower room, and laundry facilities. The massive galley also connects to the skipper’s cabin, which has an alternate deck entrance through a gull-wing glass hatch.

The Performance:

The well-planned engine room, accessible via both a hatch and aft steps, provides ample space for maintaining key systems such as the water maker, generators, and 175-horsepower engines. With fuel tanks holding over 2,000 liters, the Thira 80 is primed for extended journeys.

Conclusion:

The Fountaine-Pajot Thira 80 exemplifies the pinnacle of luxury catamaran design. Its remarkable balance of volume, innovation, and comfort makes it a standout in the 80-foot category. From its expansive exterior spaces to its thoughtfully crafted interiors, the Thira 80 offers a sailing experience like no other, setting a new benchmark for discerning yachting enthusiasts.
